Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with the project manager to develop a detailed, cost-effective budget for the project.
- Performing accounting duties throughout the project, such as preparing invoices, and estimating cash flow.
- Analyzing all transactions and working unforeseen costs into the budget.
- Keeping a record of all project finances for internal/external auditing.
- Preparing cost analyses by interpreting projects’ financial data and information.
- Reporting any financial risks and budgetary discrepancies to management for review.
- Researching market trends and projecting construction-related price increases/decreases.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Keeping abreast with both the construction and accounting industries.
Skills Required
- Ability to oversee project financials and drive invoicing process.
- General construction knowledge and familiarity with the terms.
- Experience with ProCore and Sage software is recommended.
Job Description
- Plans all phases of the construction lifecycle from initiation to completion.
- Obtains all necessary regulations and permits.
- Orders necessary supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Makes sure projects are aligned with agreed-upon plans.
- Communicates with clients and delivers project progress reports.
- Develops and adheres to the budget, timeline, and quality control plan.
- Collaborates with the client, architects, subcontractors, and other specialists.
- Writes and submits testing and inspection logs, quality assurance reports, and punch lists.
- Ensures that all local, state, and national building codes and regulations and safety precautions are followed.
- Ability to run OAC as well as other project-related meetings
- Estimating and Bidding: Diligently work to ensure strong subcontractor participation and prepare and submit thorough competitive bids.
- Schedule Accurately: Develop and update project schedules using MS Project.
- Provide pre-construction services: Design-build, value engineering, budgeting, and conceptual estimating.
- Quality control: Manage your team to execute accurately all action items in the pre-construction, construction, and closeout phases.
- Take the lead: Lead your team and your project to produce exceptional results and ensure your clients have an outstanding experience.
- Help grow the company: Develop relationships and bring in opportunities.
- Manage your project team: With the assistance of a Project Engineer and Project Administrator, execute all documentation related to pre-construction, construction, and closeout phases.
- Ability to mentor PMs and PE/PAs
- Be versatile: Simultaneously bid and manage multiple projects.
- Be your client’s most valuable resource: Serve as the point of contact and go-to problem solver for your client in every phase of your project.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Project Manager preferred.
- Corporate Office T.I. is a must; additional experience in OSHPD, Life Sciences, R&D, and Site Work is preferred.
- Command of sub-trades, (esp. MEPs) & building methods
- Proficient in MS Project
- Procore experience is a plus (past use of comprehensive project management software suite preferred)
